Summary: Manage and respond to a variety of telephonic, electronic and mail inquiries from client contacts, insured’s, and medical providers. Take ownership of the call, processing, initiating and following up on all requests. Will utilize the phone and case management system (CMS), and other systems to respond to customer inquiries, and to aid in the research and resolution of more complex issues. Assist the case manager with various aspects of the claim adjudication process. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1. Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service and telephone communication skills. 2. Advanced computer knowledge including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Products. 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with all corporate levels, providers, policyholders and their families. 4. Ability to multi-task. 5. Must be able to work independently, as well as be team oriented. 6. Must posses a high degree of tact, diplomacy and professionalism when dealing with all types of customers. 7. Must possess excellent organizational and decision-making skills. 8. Must be sensitive and be able to articulate customer’s perspective. Must uphold confidentiality while delivering prompt dependable and courteous service. 9. Strong analytical skills and ability to pay attention to details. Education, Training and Experience: 1. Prior customer service experience required. 2. Insurance or medical background preferred.
