Summary: This position is responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates of material costs and labor hours and costs, create estimates to effectively communicate to cross functional teams for customer proposals; requires minimal supervision.
Responsibility:
* Create estimates by analyzing current drawings, determine and verify dimensions and generate detailed line item; change to OBE; make revisions as needed.
· Ensures most accurate estimates are provided to Management and Sales.
· Create estimates for duplicate jobs by investigating historical data; update pricing.
· Continually updates material and labor costs.
· Create actual cost standards annually.
· Practice estimating procedures consistent with customer requirements.
· Ensures estimates are reviewed as directed by supervisor as required.
· Accepts work assignment(s), as needed that could require additional training.
· Contribution to and supports the improvement and continuance of quality programs and the company's team concept; ensures effective efforts are made at all times to accomplish the company's mission.
· Supplies material, shop labor hours, engineering and drafting hours breakdown by component
· Recommends improvements in estimating procedures contributing to the efficiency of the department.
· Confers with supervisor on consistent basis to keep abreast of current costs and other related information for estimating purposes.
* Perform other duties, special projects and presentation for executive management, as required.
Qualifications:
Experience in engineering or designing or manufacturing or methods/planning in steel in a job shop environment.
Knowledgeable in manufacturing techniques and process, forming, welding, machining, assembly etc
Fast learner, go getter, will have to learn our capabilities and processes quickly
Salary 50-60K depending on qualifications
Education: Bachelors in Engineering, mechanical, structural or related field equivalent job related, technical engineering or mfg. related courses preferred or drafting experience/knowledge as determined by management
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Temp assignment, 6 months, possible perm position
Technical Skills:
· Working knowledge of the gas turbine products and related manufacturing processes.
· Thorough knowledge of fabrication processes, shop standards, and materials.
· Ability to read and interpret drawings and to understand customer specifications.
· Ability to operate PC with knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar software packages.
· Good basic math skills.
· Strong oral, written communication and analytical skills
